| Location: | Florida Avenue & Santa Fe Boulevard, Denver, CO |
| Owner: | City & County of Denver Public Works |
| Contractor: | Tierdael Construction Company, Denver, CO |
The Florida Interceptor was a major infrastructure project under the City & County of Denver’s Public Works Integrated Contract. The primary driver for design of the storm drainage outfall using 12’ x 10’ RCBs (reinforced concrete boxes) was the availability of joints utilizing rubber gaskets to provide a watertight seal. The 108” diameter concrete jacking pipe was installed beneath major Union Pacific Railroad lines on the east end of the project. Pipe jacking was performed by BT Construction of Henderson, CO.
